Hi boys, hi everyone,
Ever since we've started this trip we've had to roll with the punches and today started out no differently. We had planned to go to Pennsylvania but when we got up this morning it was snowing here in Wallingford with the predictions of more snow to come. So we did the only sensible thing we could, we decided to do a quilt shop crawl (ahhem) a shop hop all the way back to New York.
This decision also left us scrambling to find accomodation, so we sat in the walmart carpark on the internet and the phone trying to make a reservation. Roosevelt booked out, tried some more no vacancies, then we came across the Michelangelo, we rang and they had rooms available, and to our surprise they were even friendly. The reviews on the net were all fantastic and to top it off they had specials on and we got a suite for the price of a standard room. and we're talking 4 stars. We arrived and the experience was excellent right from the doorman, he was great everyone made us feel so welcome. Our room is off the hook, we overlook the wintergarden on one side and down 51st on the other side. Its quiet, and full on luxurious, they even have a bidet, not that we're going near that.
We settled in and got the weather report that a snowstorm was coming though the midwest and through Pennsyvania moving east through the top of NY state and knew without doubt or regret that we had made the right decision.
The quilt shop hop was so much fun, we got to meet so many nice ladies and the shops are just beautiful, very inspiring!
Brad has done an awesome job of driving here and we were so glad to give the car back.
Here are a few highlight pics of the day. We love you boys and we love you all each and everyone. It is so nice to be getting your comments it's like having you all with us.

Hi Vicky and Brad,
ReplyDeleteBrad's cheeks are very rosy - wonder why.
Found your 2 quilt shops - Dot's Quilt Shop, 6 New Haven Road, Prospect, CT and Quilter's Corner, 312 Danbury Road, New Milford - stunning roof line on the Barn and opposite the Candlewood Valley Country Club (no snow)
Hope the co-driver is a shutterbug - the CN architecture is beautiful.
Those Hohos look yummy.
The Michelangelo Hotel, 152 W 51st St, New York looks inviting and just around the corner from Mamma Mia(was in pic) at the Winter Garden. Good spot. One street over from Radio City - Whats on ? - Bon Jovi, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga are in NY now
What's next? Enjoy the rest of your stay.
Bye and love Y'all - keep snapping!!
